
This is a battle report using the MechaStellar Rules for a series of games we did testing out changes to HP, Evade and Shields. This is the first series where we focused on grunt units without any Ace Pilots bringing as many cheap and useful units as we could.

Zeon + Mazinger 1500pts
- Zaku II Commander Type (but also the Commander with resourceful trait)
- Zaku II x4 and x3 with magella cannon
- Zaku Desert type with long machine gun
- Gouf and Gouf Custom (both with basic pilots)
- 2x Doms and a Rick Dom II (with machine gun)
Federation + Getter Robo 1500pts
- GM Light Armor commander with 3x as fast
- GM x8 and GM Cannon
- GM Kai x2 (2x Bazooka, 1x machine gun)
- GM Command
- Guncannon x2 with basic pilot
- Guntank with basic pilot

And so we begin, artillery rains down on my forces and the Gouf troupe charge forward and take the high ground. (While it looked cool, in retrospect it just made them giant targets.)
Round 1 was a lot of trading shots from afar and moving our grunts into the middle of the battlefield.
Round 2

The Gouf Troupe is an unstoppable force of brutal melee dismemberment. Off with the GM Command’s head!

Meanwhile some uppity GM Kai’s rally and move forward while my Dom’s laugh at them with their superior mobility.

I spent too much time laughing at the GM Kai platoon I did not notice the GM horde sneaking up on my Dom.

The Zaku platoon moves to reinforce but they stay in cover to avoid any lethal hits.
Round 3

Brought down by a lowly GM the Gouf Custom is no more.

His wingman and less customized Gouf has been surrounded but fights on! He manages to survive fighting off both of these GMs for 2 rounds AND WINS!
Get this man a promotion!

For a moment there I thought I could take out the enemy commander.

Just kidding! He killed me with an overwatch attack ='(
At least I wrecked all those GMs in the center.

My Commander moves forward hoping to save the Gouf.

But he is spotted by the enemy commander.
Round 4

This desert zaku has been….deserted.
He is literally holding down the fort by himself, killing one GM at a time.

Oh no! Not my Commander, anyone but him!
Round 5

He may have survived that round, but cannon troops got into position at the end of Round 4. It’s the curtain call for my Zaku commander. As I usually play team Guncannon I did not care for them burning turned against me.
Final Score was close until the Round 5, Commander +5 VP bonus.
