Victory Points
The players were using the Defend the City / Rampage rules which uses the same scoring as simple battle as well as bonus victory points for destroying buildings and destroying units quickly.
In simple battle when you destroy a unit you gain victory points equal to the units frame and pilot level. If they were the Commander you gain bonus VP equal to the current Round. VP are lost if you lose an Ace Pilot or a Frame 4+ unit
For the Defend the City Game mode any units destroyed in Round 1 or 2 they are worth double. Additionally, the Attacker gains bonus VP for every 2 buildings they destroy rounded up.
Toezinger
- Destroyed Doublas M2 (Frame 3) in Round 1 (x2) = 6VP
- Destroyed Garada K7 (Frame 3) = 3 VP
- Destroyed Kingdan X10 (Frame 3 Pilot 2) with Revenge (x2) = 10VP
- Round 4 destroyed the enemy Commander = +4 VP
- Lost a Critical Machine (Mazinger) = -3 VP
- Unacceptable Casualties (Koji is out of comission) = -2 VP
- Total = 18VP
Kikaiju
- Destroyed Boss Borot (Frame 2 Pilot 1) = 3 VP
- Destroyed Mazinger (Frame 4 Pilot 2) = 6 VP
- Round 3 destroyed the enemy Commander = +3 VP
- Destroyed 10 Buildings = +5 VP
- Total 17VP

This ended up being an incredibly close game, I had thought I had lost since even though I had stopping the rampaging mechanical beasts a lot of the city got flattened and I lost my Commander / most expensive unit. I can’t say it was strategy, really just luck on my end that I edged out a win with only 1 Victory Point to spare. I’m glad I remembered to declare Revenge on Kingdan otherwise I would have lost on VP.
As for tactics, it’s a lot harder when you do the alternate deployment mode. I mean it’s preferable to starting 3+ feet away and letting them rampage while you take 2 turns getting to them hahaha! I think it’s very hard when you’re playing a force that is built around shooting, since your opponents can deploy very close to you and make a charge in Round 1 so you have to be very conscious of what you’re doing. My team has a lot of firepower and can do a lot of damage but they fold pretty easily once they get into melee. Maybe in a future game I’ll bring a more melee oriented teammate like Great Mazinger or Getter Robo.

Wow what a game, I thought I had outplayed my opponent on two fronts, both for VP and go simply blowing up their robots and city but I lost by just a thread. Looking back at a few of the Rounds, it may have been better to focus on destroying more buildings rather than picking fights with the enemy robots. Still when I saw they had filled up their Momentum pool I couldn’t resist striking knowing that they couldn’t benefit from the game rule or their commander trait for getting Momentum when attacked. By Round 3 is probably where I should have focused on destroying more buildings, but I was really close to finishing them off that I went with that strategy.
And that’s a lot of the fun really. I thought I was going to finish of my oppponent early and then have a Round or 2 to flatten the city for even more VP in a victory lap. Then it turns out that Diana A gets great rolls while I botch some evades and suddenly it’s 1-on-1 and my last guy has to burn most his actions just to try and get to a good firing location. My opponent definitely beat me in maneuvering, there was one early on where they got outside of range I think in Round 1 or 2 with Diana A and then again at the end where they used LOS cover to force me to waste actions to get a view on them. Well done and great game!

Hello, I’ve been watching over this the past few months and getting my own set up to play, but recently I cane across a good deal on a model kit yesterday and had a question. Do you by chance have any intention to add Zoids to the game? It seems like a really cool table top version of Super Robot Wars and I love seeing the creativity in the game, but was curious if Zoids would be added Sir Ace of the Round Table

Hello, thanks for stopping by. Great question, since we’re a tabletop SRW game anytime we add a series to the roster it has to have appeared in a mainline SRW game. (The OG Pacific Rim movie is beloved on the team so that one got an exception).
Looks like Zoids showed up in OE and K so they’re definitely a consideration for a roster addition. That said it would be a long ways off, not in the immediate future. We do roster additions based on the poll on the downloads page and right now the focus is on getting in units from SRW Alpha / Gaiden and as well as W since there’s plans to do a Campaign mode for those games later this year.

That’s perfectly okay, I was just wondering how the process goes. I very much appreciate you getting back to me on this and look forward to the additions that get added in! I also don’t blame you for that exception, Pacific Rim is and excellent movie and honestly, seeing the Big O added on had me trembling in excitement. It was my first ever anime and seeing it give the love and recognition it deserves makes me happy! Thank you all for all that you do and keep up the good work!

Thank you for the reply and words of encouragement! I’m really glad to hear you like Big O as well, most of us really love the mecha anime that made it over to the US in the 2000s, Big O included. If you play with large figures the recent Moderoid Big O kit is really great, I’m actually putting it together this week after work.
