
Here we have a gameplay example for MechaStellar VER9.5 using 1/144 scale Gundam figure. On one side we have Kamille’s Zeta Gundam and Kai’s Guncannon, on the other we have the unlikely teamup of Garrod’s Gundam X and Norris Packard Gouf Custom. Read on below the break for Round 3.

Round 3
Kamille is up first he transformed back into a Mobile Suit and challenges Norris who accepts.
Challenge provides a benefit where if anyone besides these two attack one of the pair, they gain a bonus Block for the rest of the Round. i.e. If the Guncannon shoots at the Gouf so they gain a bonus block since they are not part of the challenge. The purpose of Challenge is to let you forge your own narrative and have named or original pilots force a showdown from Round to Round.
Kamille’s goal is to take down the Gouf before he can dismember Kai’s Guncannon
- Barrage (+2 Shots) vs Guard/Dodge (+2 Blocks/Evade)
- Norris has the Lone Wolf trait which lets him once per Round benefit from both Guard and Dodge.
- Shooting 12+2 vs Evade+4+2 = S14 vs E+6 = 8+
- [1,2,3,8,8,8,9] after Improvise [3,4,5,8,8,9,9] = 1 Crit + 2 Hits
- + 2 Kamille’s Pilot Trait = 6 Hits
- Shield + Guard = 5 Blocks
- Skill Defense +1 Blocks for [M-1]
- Not satisfied with that Kamille goes in for melee gaining [M+1]
Since Zeta Gundam has an impressive movement stat he circles around the Gouf Custom staying out of its engagement range before getting into melee, presenting one more obstacle to prevent the Gouf Custom from striking Guncannon
- The Gouf Custom does get an Overwatch attack as Zeta goes into Melee
- S7 vs E7 = [5,6,9,10] = 0 Hits
- Kamille gets +2 Hits as the Attacker while Norris chooses Guard (+2 Blocks)
- Norris already used the once per Round Lone Wolf ability this Round
- Kamille puts 9d10 on ATK and gets +2 Hits as the Attacker
- Norris puts 3d10 on counter ATK and 4d10 on DEF
- Kamille ATK [1,3,3,4,5,5,7,9,10] = 7 Hits
- + 2 Attack bonus + 2 Kamille’s Pilot Trait = 11 Hits
- Norris DEF [1,4,8,10] and the Heat Sword rerolls the 1 into an [8] = 3 Blocks
- + 2 Shield + 2 Guard = 7 Blocks total
- Norris loses [M-4] for 4 Blocks with Skill Defense
- Kamille ATK [1,3,3,4,5,5,7,9,10] = 7 Hits
- Norris counter ATK [1,3,8] = 1 Hit
- The Heat Sword rerolls the 1 into a 2
- + 1 Hit from the Heat Sword = 2 Hits
- Zeta Gundam Shield gives +1 Block
- They lose [M-2] rather than get hit by a Finishing Blow

Norris is up next
As seen in the picture above, thanks to Kamille’s maneuver there is no longer enough room to disengage and attack Guncannon. Props to the player for making the most of their movement.
- Norris starts with the Arc Whip
- Range 8″ weapons can be used in melee range (Core rules page 11)
- With Shooting 7 vs Evade+7 he’s relying on crits regardless so he chooses Barrage (+2 Shots)
- Kamille can only choose Dodge since Arc Weapons (like battleship guns) can only be blocked by [Barriers] or Momentum
- Zeta Gundam rolls 9d10 = [1,2,2,5,7,8,9,10,10] = 3 Crits
- After Improvise it becomes [2,4,5,8,9,10,10,10] = 1 Crit
- Kamille will use Newtype (NT) Flash for +3 Blocks this turn.
- Had he taken the hits and failed the armor save the electrified whip would have given him a persistent action penalty
Now for melee which gives the Norris [M+1]. Norris uses the Bullseye skill for free thanks to his Commander Trait – Impressive Skill. This skill gives +1 Hit, a useful skill but it does mean you won’t be able to use Skill Defense.
- Norris puts 7d10 on ATK and gets +2 Hits as the Attacker
- Kamille chooses Guard (+2 Blocks)
- Since Norris is low on Momentum Kamille puts 4d10 on counter ATK and 5d10 on DEF.
- Norris gets [1,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]
- The Heat Sword rerolls the 1 into a [7] = 4 Hits + 2 Crits = 8 Hits
- + 2 Attacker + 1 Bullseye + 1 Hit Heat Sword = 12 Hits
- Kamille gets [2,5,6,8,9] = 4 Blocks
- + 2 Guard + 1 Shield + 3 from the 2nd NT Flash = 10 Blocks
- Kamille loses [M-2] to block the remaining hits
- + 2 Guard + 1 Shield + 3 from the 2nd NT Flash = 10 Blocks
- On counter ATK Kamille gets [3,4,5,8] = 2 Hits
- + 2 Kamille’s Pilot trait = 4 Hits
- Norris has 2 Blocks from his Shield
- Norris takes 2 Hits for 600 DMG
- He rolls 2 Armor Saves vs PEN 8 = 8+
- [1,7] failing both. Norris loses [M-1] to pass one and then loses 1000 HP.

Kai’s turn
With Zeta Gundam and the Gouf Custom embroiled in melee Kai’s only shooting option is Garrod’s Gundam X which fortunately is within range of his twin-linked shoulder cannons sitting at 46″ of its 48″ maximum effective range.
Unfortunately, destroying terrain to shoot out Zeta Gundam backfired since there’s no longer anything between him and Guncannon. Destroyed terrain pieces no longer provide the benefits of cover. If Garrod survives, Guncannon will have the same problem.
- Kai’s pilot trait gives [M+1]
- Guncannon has 2 actions he uses one to Focus and one to Shoot
- Kai chooses Precision (+2 ACC) while Garrod chooses Guard (+1 Block)
- Shooting 10+2 vs Evade+5 = S12 vsE+5 = 7+
- Cannons make 5 shots so 5d10 = [2,2,4,5,8,10] = 2 Crits + 2 Hits + 1 Focus = 7 Hits
- Garrod 1 Blocks = 6 Hits at 400 DMG each = 2400 DMG
- Gundam X HP 1700/4100
- EOT [M] Zeta Cannon 3 Gouf X 0

Garrod’s turn
At the start of his turn Garrod’s pilot trait activates thanks to being below 50% HP. He chooses to gain [M+2]
- With 3 actions he uses 1 to Focus, 1 to Shoot and one to Full Throttle later.
- He chooses Barrage (+2 Shots) vs while Kai chooses Dodge (+3 Evade)
- Shooting 12 vs Evade+3+3 = S12 vs E+6 = 6+
- 6d10 = [1,1,6,6,8,8] = 2 Crits
- (without Dodge he would evade on a 9+ and so Kai would have been hit 4 more times)
- +1 Hit from Focus = 5 Hits total
- Kai takes the 1500 DMG (4x 300 DMG)
- Then rolls 3d10 for Armor Saves
- The GX Rifle is PEN 8, while Guncannon has ARM Sv+1 = 7+
- He gets [6,6,8] and loses [M-2] to negate the failed Saves
- Guncannon HP 1200/4100
- Garrod then uses his last action to Full Throttle and capture the central CP
