MechaStellar Monthly Roster Update – Braves Figh Bird and Da Garn

This was a busy month leading up to a busy summer so here’s a short update summary. Updated Mecha Profiles for the Braves series and Gundam can be found on the MechaStellar game downloads page: https://mechastellar.com/game-downloads/

This month we’ll be fulfilling one of our previous polls by adding in more units from the Braves series. Going in production order we have The Brave of the Sun Figh Bird as the 2nd series and The Brave of Legend Da Garn as the 3rd series representative along with their respective villains.

Da Garn also has Seven Changer a rival who is getting an impressive release by moderoid. Next month we’ll have additional units from Might Gaine, one of the more well known Brave series 2nd only to GaoGaiGar.

In addition to that we’ve also been been slowly but surely adding more units from Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam to the roster which you can find on the downloads page. We’re hoping to get to Gundam Sentinel by July.

Next month’s big release will be Turn A Gundam as well as drafts for Gundam SEED.

Update Summary

  • Added 8 units for the Braves series Figh Bird and Da Garn
  • Added 18 units for Zeta and ZZ Gundam
  • Fixed Evade errors on GM Quel
  • Upgraded Zeta Biosensor, Downgraded The O Biosensor
  • Fixed Cost Error on Newtype Pressure (Qubeley and The O)
  • Rebalanced Zeta & Quebeley

MechaStellar Battle Report Defend the City Game 2 featuring Gundam & Pacific Rim

Note: This was a battle report from MechaStellar VER7 there are a number of updates to gameplay and victory points since that time. For instance in this version only a single armor save was rolled but failing it was instant death.

The 2nd game that day we were able to accommodate another player who was joyfully able to play as Epyon as well as a Kaiju from Pacific Rim.  Wing and Heavy Arms returned as Attackers while Gipsy, Big Zam, Gundam and Guncannon returned as Defenders along with Deathscythe.  You’ll find the Battle Report below the break.

MechaStellar Battle Report Defend the City Game 1 featuring Gundam & Pacific Rim

Note: This was a battle report from MechaStellar VER7 there are a number of updates to gameplay and victory points since that time. For instance in this version only a single armor save was rolled but failing it was instant death.

This is probably my favorite game we had of Defend the City. We had a tag team match with two players on each side. Defend the City is a game mode where the Defenders are trying to preserve the city while the Attackers attempt to destroy it.

The Attacker side had units from Gundam Wing (Wing & Heavy Arms) plus units from Gundam SEED (Freedom & Justice). In the 2v2 game each player picked a Commander trait, Wing had Vigilant Leader and Justice had Three Times as Fast.

The Defender side focused on Mobile Suit Gundam with an unlikely alliance between the Federation and Zeon. They had Big Zam, Zaku IIs, Gelgoogs, Amuro in the Gundam plus two Guncannons along with Gipsy Danger from Pacific Rim. In the 2v2 game each player picked a Commander trait, Big Zam had Resourceful while Amuro had Unyielding.

The players were using the Battle Damage and Climactic Events modules.

Below the break you’ll find the battle report. We were having a lot of fun with everyone at the table and the audience and so only remembered to take a few photos per Round.

Battle Report – Gundam Odessa 1500pts

Here’s a battle report for a large MechaStellar 1500pt game featuring 15+ units on both sides. This game was played before the recent HP / Evade overhaul and points rebalance so expect some discrepancies.

For the narrative we decided on portraying a slice of the Odessa campaign featuring some heavy hitters on both sides including Yuu Kajima’s Blue Destiny (with Hughes and Sumona in GM Cold Districts / GM Command Early type) and the White Dingo GM Sniper II on the Federation side and M’Quve and his Gyan along with Nimbus and the Efreet Custom on the Zeon side.

Yuu and the Blue Destiny weren’t paired up until after Odessa but a little anachronism is part of the fun in running a MechaStellar “What if?” game. Likewise the White Dingo was in Australia and the GM Sniper II wouldn’t be produced for some time.

Keep reading to see some anachronistic Gundam battles. At the end you’ll find the Gundam Tactics Post Mortem from both players.
