Space Battleship Yamato (Uchuu Senkan Yamato) was created by Leiji Matsumoto as the first anime space opera premiering in 1974. It was monumentally influential by pioneering a serious tone and complex storytelling which would later influence Captain Harlock, Macross and Mobile Suit Gundam to name a few.

Space Battleship is a long running and beloved series in Japan and worldwide and such it has quite a lot of merchandise out there, not to mention some superb garagekits and scratch builds over the years including very impressive massive Yamato builds both by fans and by the show staff.

I do not have a huge collection of Yamato figures so many of the photos in this post are pulled from Tim’s site.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone,
We have been hard at work to prepare a large December update along with a balance patch. We have a large expansion of the VER10 unit roster, updates to the Core Rules regarding Morale rules, Commander’s orders, and a new tier of pilots, the “Battle-Tested Pilot” which is in between a basic pilot and a skilled pilot in power and VP cost. Lastly, we’ve put in the midnight oil this last week and updated the first half of the MechaStellar Wargaming supplement. This document adds in the Objective Secured gametype as well a large expansion of the upgrade rules for MechaStellar.
