For recently released some of the most spectacular Mobile Armors from Mobile Suit Gundam featured in 0083: Stardust Memory with the GP03 Dendrobium Orchis and the Neue Ziel. Two iconic and bombastic Mobile Armors that are featured in the finale of the 0083 OVA.
We’re pushing out the roster update early for the month of November. We’ve been testing out for a few months now what the gameplay would be like if we were to reduce the cost of Skilled and Ace Pilots down to 50pts per level. Overall, we’re satisfied with how the Mission Packs are running as well as versus games so we’ve decided to implement the change. All Mecha Unit Profiles have been updated to reflect this, a few units were rebalanced to get down to 500pts or 250pts as a result. Getter Robo profiles will be updated at the end of the month along with a continuation of the Narrative campaign and more Mechasaurus units.
With the change to Pilot costs we can also return to simpler Army Momemtum brackets of 500/1000/1500/2000+. The core rules were updated to reflect that. I’ve also improved the Make it Count universal skill. This was meant to be in October’s update but was missed when we released it.
Sandbox Mission Packs and Demo Games mission packs have also been updated to reflect the new costs.

Here’s the third game in our final round of testing for the Mazinger Z units, we of coursed wanted to finish with a Getter Robo teamup so we included the Getter team plus a beefy Mechasaurus. The models used are the Gundam 1/300 S.O.G. line, Mazinger Gashapon, Getter Robo KT figure, and the Mechasaurus is being represented by the Machine Saurer gashapon. You can read more about figures here for Gundam, Mazinger and Getter. Previous game can be found here.
Below the break will be a short battle report and photos of the game along with a post mortem discussing the mecha tactics employed for the Mobile Suits, Mazinger, Getter, and the Kaiju.
Below are a pair of battle reports we put together while doing final testing of the Mazinger Z units released in September. The models used are the Gundam 1/300 S.O.G. line and the Mazinger Z gashapon line. You can read more about model sizes in these two posts.
Below the break you’ll see the battle report as well as a post mortem on the mecha tactics used for the Mobile Suits from Gundam, Mazinger and the Kikaiju.
Here’s a short battle report on using GP03 by itself against a portion of the Delaz fleet. This Gundam tabletop tactics game involved GP03 Dendrobium, three Musai class cruisers, 9 Zaku IIs, and 3 Rick Dom IIs.
One of our players mentioned having issues running GP03 against large numbers of units so we opted to use the Zaku II over the F2 since they’re a cheaper unit and we wanted to try and overwhelm GP03.
The models used are the Gundam 1/400 collection for the Zaku II and Rick Dom II, the 1/1200 Gunpla kit for two Musai and the MSiA Peer Gynt for the larger more detailed cruiser and GP03 Dendrobium. You can read more about miniatures for Gundam and Stellar Warships in these posts.
Below the break will be a more photos and a battle report that tracks Momentum and damage to GP03 Dendrobium as well as a post mortem discussing the Gundam tactics and misplays.
Mazinger Z is a classic series from the 70s with both a manga and several TV shows and OVA adaptations. Along with Getter Robo and Tetsujin-28 it is one of the original super robot series, with Mazinger being the first piloted super robot, while Tetsujin-28 who appeared earlier was controlled remotely.
2023 Update: Added photos for the Go Nagai figure collection to the very end.
On this page we’re going to discuss the different miniatures available for Mazinger Z to be used with the MechaStellar Wargame Rules. This post is to show you the various kinds of small scale and large figures available to play MechaStellar.
When playing MechaStellar we advise you to pick either a Versus movie scale (all figures are roughly the same height) or an approximate scale where some very large robots (i.e. 100+ meter robots like Daitarn 3 or Ideon) are represented by larger figures while everything else is around the same height. You can read more about the recommended size and scale here.

If you you would like to get into the Mazinger series check out this post.
Mazinger as a series is created by Go Nagai and popularized with its first animated appearance produced by Toei animation. The of Mazinger has gone through many incarnations and reboots both in manga and anime form including Mazinkaiser, Shin Mazigner Z (Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact) and of course it forms the holy trinity of Super Robot Wars games with Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, and Gundam who have appeared in nearly every single entry.
Below the break we’ll talk about the various type of Mazinger miniatures and figures out there you can use for mecha minis in a Mechastellar tabletop Super Robot Wars game.
For Septembers roster update we have 24 new mecha unit profiles including the foundational Super Robot series, Mazinger Z. We are also releasing MechaStellar VER 8.4 Core Rules which streamlines some items in the Stellar Warfare section and provides another option for [Focus] as well as changes to Disengage. Lastly, there’s a large balance update that will address some points cost issues, movement and evade as well as improving the durability of some units.
With the recent release of VER 8 Stellar Warship rules it’s a good time to put out a post on what kind of Stellar Warships to use. This post will focus on Warships from Mobile Suit Gundam which you can use with the MechaStellar rules for a Gundam Tactics game with warship fire support.
Recently a player asked about a matchup between Big O and Sachiel. One piece of advice I had was to field more units using the mass produced Bigs we see in flashbacks which would be much cheaper than Ace Pilot. The minis used are the Kotobukiya one coin figures for Big O and the Seika figures for Evangelion.
For this matchup we are using a draft version of the Flashback Big O and Big Duo to try and take down Sachiel. Hopefully we have better luck than last match. Below is a battle report and the mecha tactics employed.
