We pushed out most of this months update earlier in the month with this post. To finish off this month we’ve finished up the Getter Robo 1974 Narrative Campaign which finishes just prior to the appearance of Getter Robo G. We’ve also added a Narrative Campaign for Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact (Shin Mazinger) and released unit profiles for Zeus, Hades and even Flying Fortress Ghoul.
On this page we’re going to discuss the different miniatures available for Mobile Suit Gundam for use in the MechaStellar Wargame Rules.
This post will feature the Gundam 1/400 collection, the 1/300 S.O.G. range, and a number of ranges that some estimate as 1/200 to 1/220 scale but for the sake of convenience we’ll call them 1/200 for this write-up. We’ll examine the pros and cons of each Gundam mini collection and at the end we’ll have a number of comparison shots showing the different ranges side by side.

The primary purpose of this guide is to let you see the size of various Gundam models. That way if you decide to start collecting and want to mix and match you know which ranges work well together and which figures you want to battle it out on the tabletop.
When playing MechaStellar as a SRW style game with mecha from different franchises we advise you to pick either a Versus movie scale (all figures are roughly the same height) or an approximate scale where some very large robots (i.e. 100+ meter robots like Daitarn 3 or Ideon) are represented by larger figures while everything else is around the same height. On the Zeon side we have an assortment of Zaku IIs, Zaku Cannons & Doms all being led by an amphibious Acguy. You can look at the Mecha Unit Profiles for the Federation and Zeon on the downloads page. The Gundam models used for this example are from the Gundam 1/400 collection. You can use larger size figures such as Gundam 1/144 scale, here’s an example battle report of what figures of those scale look like on the tabletop.

Just a quick update. While prototyping some powerful warships (Ra Cailum, Arcadia, J-Ark, etc.) we decided to alter the cost formula since these units were becoming too costly. This also affects Frame 1 units like the Salamis and Musai to a smaller degree. Their new costs allow them to have a full crew for 300pts with 5 Zaku IIs to a Musai and 4 GMs to a Salamis. The Salamis also got a slight equipment adjustment with more missiles available.
Additionally VER 8.5 of the core rules was updated to R2. This update adds in a [Reload] action for Stellar Warships.

For recently released some of the most spectacular Mobile Armors from Mobile Suit Gundam featured in 0083: Stardust Memory with the GP03 Dendrobium Orchis and the Neue Ziel. Two iconic and bombastic Mobile Armors that are featured in the finale of the 0083 OVA.

These tests were focused on the Pegasus class of warships with the most notable being Mobile Suit Gundam’s White Base from the One Year War. The model featured here is the Albion from 0083 Stardust Memory. They are a very formidable ship but as you can see from the last few photos even they can be brought down by a concerted effort from Zakus, Rick Doms and Musai class cruisers.
