This MechaStellar Battle Report involves a 3vs3 match using the Supreme Robot Warfare (SRW) module. On one side we have three AU Gundam’s including Shining, Wing and the GX Divider piloted by Domon Kasshu, Heero Yuy and Garrod Ran. On the other side we have Armageddon Getter Robo, Eva Unit 01 and Gurren Lagann piloted by Ryoma, Shinji, Kamina & Simon.
Narrative
For this SRW game we reasoned that the Gundam Pilots were being forced to fight against their will, possibly Relena, Rain and Tiffa were being held hostage by the Romfeller Foundation or New UNE. Meanwhile, NERV has become the last bastion for the resistance following the 7th Space War, they have a rag tag team of robots and pilots to resist the New UNEs far superior resources.
Below the break we’ll have a Round by Round battle report with plenty of photos of tabletop mecha action.
The Commander Traits chosen are Bold Leader for Shining Gundam and Three Times as Fast for Gurren Lagann.
The Round begins and Shinji uses Make it Count for a bonus action then takes the high ground with full throttle. Aftewards he fires a machine gun burst from its pallet rifle at Shining Gundam, several crits deal 1600 DMG.
Shining uses its turn to get behind LOS cover.
Getter takes the high ground but maintains cover, its machine guns fail to land any hits on the GX.
GX Divider fires off its beam machinegun and beam harmonica into Eva but scores only 500 DMG.
Gurren Lagann moves forward and stays out of LOS
Wing fires its Buster Rifle at Getter who evades it.
This round both sides made use of the Expert Evasion skill this round giving an Evade bonus for M-1, thus minimal damage taken.

Round 2
Eva 01 goes first firing off a burst from the Pallet Rifle in RF range into GX Divider then uses the Make it Count skill for a bonus action which it uses to Full Throttle then attack Shining Gundam in melee. On offense Eva gets 6 Hits vs Shining Gundam’s 3+3 Blocks [M-3], on counterattack Shining gets 5 Hits vs Evas 2+3 Blocks [M-3].
Bad rolls all around, neither side wanted to risk an armor save due to the penalties it has on these specific units and so a hefty loss of Momentum for each side as the two melee monsters clash.
Shining Gundam is next, with Quest for Vengeance giving a bonus hit thanks to a return fire activation. Melee 12 hits vs 8+4 Blocks [M-4]. Eva 01 counterattacks with 3 Hits vs 2+1 Blocks [M-1]
Gurren Lagann uses its Power to boost over the tall terrain and melee attack Shining Gundam with a high speed attack. It rolls a triple on melee and activates its Super Inazuma Kick for a total of 16 Hits vs 6 Blocks from Shining Gundam for a whopping 5k damage. (Reminder in SRW Module you have double HP) The blow does 13″ of knockback and Shining takes another 1k damage from hitting terrain.
Unfortunately Gurren Lagann’s rapid attack put him very close to Eva Unit 01, Shining Gundam taking the hit and being knocked back was all part of Player 2’s plan. “NOW” shouts Domon. “Locked on target” says Heero and the Buster Rifle unleashed a crippling blast towards the two targets. 8 Hits on Eva 01 (being very visible on the high ground gave Wing a nice accuracy bonus) and 4 Hits on Gurren Lagann, after Armor Saves Gurren takes 3k DMG and Eva takes 8k damage and at -4 Actions it shutdowns as Shinji screams in the bubbling LCL fluid.
Armageddon Ryoma is up next Furious Fusillade gives him bonus range and two targets with one of his weapons. His getter machineguns let out a hail of lead on Wing (1200DMG) and Shining (1600DMG).
GX Divider continues its hit and run tactics this time firing on the Shutdown Eva 01. It’s controller doesn’t want to deal with the loss of Evade while shutdown and so activates Spirit in the Machine, resetting its actions and removing the shutdown status. Spirit in the Machine gives a whopping 9 bonus Blocks this turn repelling all of the beam shots as Unit 01s AT Field surges to life, it’s jaws breaking apart and the berserk roar escapes its mouth.

Round 3
The Gundam’s finally seize initiative and Wing sees 3 tempting targets. The Buster Rifle sweeps another path of destruction through the terrain and enemy mecha. 3k DMG to Gurren Lagann, 1.5k to Eva 01 and [M-1] to pass a failed Armor Save, and 6.5k to Getter Robo
Eva 01 is up next tries to finish off Shining Gundam 14 Hits vs 8+3 Blocks [M-3] Shining survives with but 300HP
Domon is up next (Rally 800HP) AND THIS HAND OF HIS IS GLOWING WITH AN AWESOME POWER. Shining Finger makes 13 Hits vs 8 Blocks and 1 failed armor save [M-1] to mitigate.
Eva survives to counterattack, if they can’t get at least one hit through then Shining’s finishing blow will destroy them. 8 Hits vs 1 Block, Domon’s luck was not with him today and Shining Gundam is brutally dismantled by the Berserk Eva 01
Getter is up next (Rally +700HP) and moves forward to get Wing and GX into rapid fire range and strikes at both dealing more damage to Wing.
GX Divider is next moving into Rapid Fire range it’s Beam Harmonica deals just enough damage to destroy Eva 01 and also sap their last Momentum trying to save them. With it’s spare action it uses its beam machine gun on Getter finishing it off.
Gurren Lagann (Rally 400HP) is up next, unfortunately GX Divider did not have enough Momentum left to retreat out of charge distance and Gurren Lagann makes another high speed attack. 10 Hits vs 3 Blocks [M-3] and uses its Spiral Power to improve its damage dealing a total of 3600.

Round 4
The Gundam’s seize initiative again. Wing is up first and fires the Buster Rifle likely a final time then it moves into melee and strikes Gurren Lagann 8 Hits vs 8 Blocks thanks to Pierce the Heavens. Gurren Lagann’s counterattack is 3 Hits vs 2 Blocks [M-1], Wing spends Momentum to block to avoid Gurren getting a finishing blow.
Gurren Lagann is up next (Rally 200HP) he strikes at GX Divider hoping to finish him off before Garrod activates. 13 Hits vs 5 Blocks finishing off the GX Divider.

Gurren Lagann wins initiative, 15 Hits vs 6 Blocks, Gurren Lagann dumps its considerable Power stat into Armor PEN destroying Wing with 9 failed Armor Saves dealing 18.5k DMG. Had Wing gone first there was a non-zero chance he may have been able to finish off Gurren Lagann. A very close game!
