[MS] Battle Report – GGG vs The Zonderized Federation

This is one of the many test games we did for GaoGaiGar in the last several months using the MechaStellar VER 8.8 Rules. For this series of games the setting is a SRW style Earth with multiple factions.

The narrative was that the GGG organization was deployed to a Federation base where a Zonder had begun to Zonderize the Federation mobile suits there. It was up to GaoGaiGar, HoRyu and EnRyu to stop them.

MechaStellar Playtest Photos – Magellan Class Battleship #3

Below is a collection of photos of when we were testing the Earth Federations Magellan class Battleship as well as the updated Stellar Warship rules for MechaStellar VER 8.7 focusing on the Captain’s Orders section. Below is a very brief battlereport as well.

We begin with a Magellan with a skilled captain bringing the Blue Destiny unit 3 along with several GM Command Space types. Against them are the same Zeon forces as the previous game, two Musais, a Gelgoog, 3 Rick Doms, a Zaku II Commander and several Zaku IIs.

MechaStellar Playtest Photos – Magellan Class Battleship #1

Below is a collection of photos of when we were testing the Earth Federations Magellan class Battleship as well as the updated Stellar Warship rules for MechaStellar VER 8. Below is a very brief battle report as well. There’s also a short battle report for a Guncannon team and one with the Blue Destiny 3.

We begin with 4 GMs and a GM Cannon onboard a Magellan who must quickly sortie to defend against a pair of Musais each with a full complement of Zaku IIs onboard. Outnumbered 2:1 things are looking grim for the Federation.

MechaStellar Battle Report – Snipers vs Firepower Mecha

While doing some test games for some adjustments to Snipers and long range skills we put together a pair of games taking some extreme army lists. For this game we had a match between two Federation forces with one heavily skewed towards Snipers and while heavily skewed towards Firepower units.

You can find the game rules and the mecha unit profiles on the MechaStellar downloads page. The miniatures used for this matchup came from the Gundam Standart and Ultimate Operation collection. You can read more about them here.

Gundam Ground Type Guncannon Guntank Full Armor Gundam

The Firepower forces decided to build a castle in the far corner to protect their units with lower Melee. The Commanders were the GP04 Gerbera and Full Armor Gundam Type B who both used the Unyielding trait.

MechaStellar Battle Report – Sniping Snipers and Gerbera Rivalry

While doing some test games for some adjustments to Snipers and long range skills we put together a pair of games taking some extreme army lists. For this game we had the Federation move heavily into Sniper type units while Zeon had a relatively balanced force with a powerful Gelgoog Jager as their powerful sniper. To make things even more fun, the GP04 Gerbera was the Commander for the Federation and the Gerbera Tetra was the Commander for Zeon.

[MS] Battle Report – G Gundam – Gundam Maxter & Dragon vs Zeus and Royal Gundam

This is a short battle report using the MechaStellar rules for a 2v2 Tag Team match of the Shuffle Alliance, on one side we have Gundam Maxter and Dragon, on the other we have Zeus and Royal Gundam.

In this game the players were using the double HP variant. Since the players were still getting used to the units and the Gundam Fight rules this fight a few tactical mistakes were made leading to an early game victory.

MechaStellar Low Grav Battles Playtest Photos

Here’s a collection of photos for one of the test games using the Low Gravs variant of the Stellar Warfare rules. For this series of games we have two Salamasis cruiser and two Musai cruisers each with a sizeable number of Mobile Suits onboard duking it out on the moon. Below you’ll see a very brief battle report to go with it, out of the 10 test games Zeon won 6 and the Federation won 4.

The minis used are the Gundam 1/400 collection and the older gunpla kits for the Salamis and Musai cruiser.

[MS] Battle Report – G Gundam Shuffle Alliance Tag Team

This is a short battle report using the MechaStellar rules for a 2v2 Tag Team match of the Shuffle Alliance, on one side we have Gundam Maxter and Dragon, on the other we have Bolt Gundam and Gundam Rose.

They were using an older version of the Gundam Fight rules and so did not play with the double starting HP variant.

MechaStellar Battle Report – Amuro, Koji and Ryoma Vs Zeon Aces and Big O

For this battle we set up a SRW style game where universes collide with Amuro, Koji and Ryoma in the Gundam, Mazinger Z and Getter Robo on one side and on the other we have Big O and some of Zeon’s Aces including Char’s Gelgoog, Mikhail’s Kampfer and two of the Black Tri-Stars. (The 3rd Tri-Star was killed by Amuro in a previous battle and this was a follow-up grudge match). Rounding out the roster we have a Zaku I sniper and a Zaku II with a magella top cannon versus Kai’s Guncannon providing long range support for each player.

For the narrative on this battle the player’s decide that Zeon had hired Roger Smith under false pretenses informing him that Getter and Mazinger were possessed robots holding memories of the past and rampaging through the area. The player’s remark that after the battle and Roger discovers the ruse he would most likely switch sides.

For the battlefield we are still using some Greco-Roman style ruins that we used previously in a few Mazinger Z match-ups. Below the break will be the round by round battle report as well as a post-mortem on the mecha tactics employed.

MechaStellar Battle Report – Mazinger + Getter + Gundam vs Kikaiju + Mechasaurus + Zeon

Here’s the third game in our final round of testing for the Mazinger Z units, we of coursed wanted to finish with a Getter Robo teamup so we included the Getter team plus a beefy Mechasaurus. The models used are the Gundam 1/300 S.O.G. line, Mazinger Gashapon, Getter Robo KT figure, and the Mechasaurus is being represented by the Machine Saurer gashapon.
